    DDRUK FINALS QUALIFIER RULESHEET

    Competition Rules:

Prizes will be awarded to the Winner and 2nd place finishers, as shown on the website. The Tournament will start at 11am on Saturday 25th October, and all entrants are to be at the stand by 10:45 to make sure all will run on time.

    General Rules:

    1. All entrants have been placed in a first round seeding order to determine the first matches, and the order will remain unchanged, bar exceptional circumstances.
    2. If any of the seeds drop out of the event, or fail to show up before the time of starting, their opponent shall be given a bye into the next round and the no-show shall be disqualified.
    3. Mods allowed in the tournament are limited to Speed Mods, Reverse, and Noteskin Mods.
    4. There is no restriction on bar use.
    5. Pad misses can be declared at the end of a song by a player if they think there has been a pad malfunction during the song. The player is to continue playing until the end of the song, and the alleged ‘pad miss’ will only be taken into consideration if it would have made a difference in the winner of the round. If the player stops playing because of it, they will lose the round regardless.

    Song Selection Rules:

    6. All songs can be played on Expert or Challenge only.
    7. The person who chooses the song also selects the difficulty, and both players are to play it on the selected difficulty.
    8. Each round up until the finals will consist of up to 3 songs. One picked by each player, and one picked by random by the machine if a 3rd song is still required.
    9. If the random song has both Expert and Challenge steps, a coin flip will be used to decide which difficulty is played.
    10. The lower seed in each round gets to decide if he or she wants to choose the song first, or which pad is played upon.
    11. After each song the players switch pads.
    12. A player may not choose a song that they chose earlier in the tournament, but they are allowed to choose a song that an opponent chose against them earlier in the tournament.
    13. If a player fails a song that they picked then they instantly lose that song, regardless of score, and even if the other player failed first.
    14. Song difficulty isn’t capped, so as long as the song is expert or challenge difficulty, foot rating doesn’t matter in any round.
    15. In the event of a tie after 3 songs, single random songs will be picked on expert (or challenge, if available) until a winner is decided.
    16. There is no veto on the random song in this tournament, so you have to play what comes up regardless.
    17. The finals will be best of 5 songs, with each player picking 2 songs, and the 5th being a random pick.

    Scoring:

The winner will be decided by the SuperNOVA 2 Machine Score, and in the event of a tie then the round shall be a draw and both players shall be awarded no points for the round.

    Winner:

The winner of the tournament will be awarded the prizes as aforementioned, and have the title ‘UK DDR Champion’. The trophy that will be handed to them will be engraved with their name on the appropriate year (we’ll give it to them on the Sunday if we can get it done for then, otherwise it will be sent to them ASAP after the Expo). They will be able to keep the trophy until the following Championships, when they will bring the trophy back to be played for again.

    And finally...

By entering this tournament you agree to allow DDR:UK to use any photos or video footage from the event in any future advertising of similar events, or in any other such write-ups of events we wish to use them in.

Good luck all, and play your best!
