London MCM Expo – http://www.londonexpo.comDDR:UK is a regular attendee of the London MCM Expo, based in the ExCeL Centre, Lonodon Docklands. The MCM Expo is the UK’s premier show for Movies, Comics and Media, catering for all ages and has a wealth of events running on the day. DDR:UK are part of the Anime Village, which has grown significantly since its conception in 2005.
We have seen many people travel from all around the UK and internationally to come to the London MCM Expo to see DDR:UK, its tournaments, the stand and the people. The event happens twice a year, in May and October, so there are even more chances for you to come along and see the show. However the London MCM Expo is much larger than just the Anime Village. There are stands, shows and celebrities out there for all the cult and sci-fi fans, everything from Robot Wars, to Gaming, Japanese Culture and Wrestling. The show list does go on!
On the 14th and 15th of May 2005, DDR:UK was invited for the first time to be apart of the show which included other groups and stands such as Sweatdrop, MVM, Forbidden Planet, Manga and Neo Magazine. We returned on the 29th and 30th of October 2005 where we ran the UK Championships for Stepping and Freestyling! In 2006 DDR:UK attended, including Konami’s latest dance game product, Dancing Stage SuperNOVA for everyone to try for the first time. In 2007 DDR:UK came along and finished off the UK Regional Championship Tournaments, with the Dancing Stage SuperNOVA returning, and seeing Maxx-Storm take the UK Champion title. Then in 2008 we returned again, this year bringing new machines including the Japanese “Dance Dance Revolution Supernova 2″, and Maxx-Storm holding on to his championship title.
The stand runs without any cost, other than the entrance fee into the London MCM Expo itself, so there is no need to worry about paying to play on the consoles or arcade machines, we at DDR:UK do this for you!
