i would say that e-rotic were more euro techno than eurodance, but then i've not really heard eurodance that i can remember, but you must admit e-rotic do have alot of techno like songs (but then, who really cares? 'Gimme Your Jimmy' would be a classic no matter what genre XD)
I've never understood why famous eurobeat artists like Dave Rogers, Niko, Mega NRG Man, Leslie Parish, Lolita, ACE, Go Go Girls, Marko Polo or Franz Tornado never tryed to break eurobeat into the mainstream in Europe (i mean come in, it even has EURO in its name!), it would be so great to hear in a club what with its huge energy, and surely there is the japanese audience who live in Europe?

The way I see it, the studios have signed exclusive contracts with Avex, who then distribute the music around Japan. If Avex don't want to market it here, then we'll never get it.

Also, Eurobeat as a genre wouldn't do well in Europe, which at the moment is predominantly split into three main genres: Rock/Metal, House/Trance, Hip-Hop/Rap. Eurobeat would be a very niche genre, hated by much of the population as it's too fast and "synthy". Eurodance did really well in the 90s, but now, post-2001, darker and less happy music is doing better. Look at Italy as a prime example: Eurodance was everywhere in the early 90s, and over time it slowly transformed into Nu-Italo which in comparison is quite frankly boring. There are exceptions of course, but I doubt the time is right for a revival. Give it a few years. :-)

Even so, things could be moving. Introducing a new genre to a population can't happen overnight, but it is possible. :-)

Also: please note these are my personal views on the matter. Feel free to discuss!

A smallish update on something I found out about yesterday: along with SEB 160 I bought SEB 151 yesterday and was amazed to see this song on the tracklist: "Change The World" by Max Alto.

"Amazed" is perhaps the wrong word since I bought the single in Italy and already knew that it was produced by Dave Rodgers - but the Italian version only contains the theme tune versions, not the eurobeat remix. Although the cover notes for SEB 151 don't say so, Max Alto is actually Inuyasha's Italian voice actor, and the standard, non-eurobeat version of Change The World sung by him was indeed the Italian theme tune for the first series. Unfortunately in the second series they changed practically all the voice actors and so they went back to the V6 version.

Max Alto is actually a singer as well as a voice actor. He performs in his own rock group (I think they're called Web, not to be confused with a Dance act by the same name - they're awesome too! :-)), and has played many parts in lots of anime, Disney films and soaps. Don't think he's a new Eurobeat artist though. :-)

That I would add that the eurobeat artist Mickey B. has done non eurobeat covers of Fukai Mori and My Will, both of which are Inu Yasha ending songs. >_>

Odd... Both of those songs were performed by Name for the Italian version, not Mickey B... and yet I think those were produced by Rodgers too.
