I'm 99% certain it's a reference to the astronomer, not Jerry Holkins.
As for Sakura: I think Konami Hawaii and Konami Japan sat down and picked out a few songs to cross over between EX2 and UM3, and I see nothing wrong with the two games sharing a whole five songs. And this particular song has only appeared in one US version in the past (oddly, so have the other four), and that's EX2. If you don't like it, just don't play it. You'll have how many other songs to play in this mix?

I hope Bye Bye Balloon makes it in. Dam Darriram KCP Mix is kinda boring, IMO. Also, I'm really curious to see if BBBB will be an 8 or a 9. They really should have included Flash in the Night and Follow Me, as well.
