Simple question here :-)

Which of the two names to you prefer? Dance Dance Revolution, or Dancing Stage.

I think DDR, because Dancing Stage just sounds a bit...uh, I can't really put it in words.

DDR is snappier
DS confuses people (Nintendo release a console by the same name apparently. Nobody bought it though)

Warning, this post contains geekery at 9.4/10 level

Dancing Stage doesn't have as much impact as Dance Dance Revolution. Looking at it from a more analytical point of view, the phrase "Dancing Stage" has a strong attack but then it bottles out at the end whilst DDR has 2 equal strength attacks followed by smooth and epic ending. So yeah, I think my next door neighbor has been smoking something :S

Yeah, 'Dancing Stage' just sound like a statement of what it is you're about to play on. 'Dance Dance Revolution' on the other hand is a lot more of an aggressive and powerful statement.

Plus, consider the globalisation of it. We all call it DDR, even though over here it isn't. Everyone is used to DDR, which is another reason I prefer it. Talk to an American about Dancing Stage and see where you get :-)

Dance Dance Revolution sounds a Bit Bit Stupid and a Lot Lot Engrish. I prefer the more Bland Bland Name of Dancing Stage.

I always thought DS sounded like a disease...

Still, didn't do Nintendo any harm I guess.

I'll stick with DDR :-)

Dancing Stage, because as a name for the title of a game it sounds better than Dance Dance Revolution. The latter sounds like someone messed up and made a typo.

Abbreviated DDR does sound better, but the poll doesn't ask that so...

"Dancing Stage" just sounds a bit overly utilitarian, while "Dance Dance Revolution" sounds a bit too over the top... methinks over the top wins. After all, it is an arcade game, for goodness sakes :-)

Mercury: Probably just not familiar with the Nipponizing of "Stage", but it's usually written in katakana as "suteeji" ("suteiji" or "sutēji" also being acceptable depending on your system of Roomaji).
