This years championships is going to be very exciting again, and we are looking forward to all the pre-registrations, and to meet you in the end of July at the event.
That's right! The biggest dancegame event in Europe is here again, this time with a new set of rules, and an added Worldcup, for anyone outside of the EU!
Read the rules and make sure you learn all about them since it's a lot different to what's it's been in the last years. Discuss them here I guess, and let's get training to take the podium spots

I was wondering why I got a mail from them.
Worldcup, eh? Sounds fun. Where would this be held (outside the EU)?

Worldcup on the same weekend, in the same place over here in Europe. Large prize money as an incentive, so it'll be interesting to see who comes over!

Erm will be interesting to see how they will do the whole single male bar in 5 hours but ok, they must have atleast 8 dedicabs?
So hyped for this, just to confirm there isn't any itg3 or rebirth right? That document is so big.
UK represent x
edit: i've asked on their board so i'll see what they say.

No ITG3 or Rebirth no. And the way they'll get through it all in such a short time is because each round is only 1 song long. With 4 dedicabs and 100 people, that's 50 matches over 4 machines, so only 13 songs need to be played per machine. That's what, 45 minutes for the first round, including time between players?
Will be easily done.

Good document and good write-up!
Im loving the tournament structure this year. Puts a lot less pressure on all the players, as they will be competing for scores against everyone and not just their opponents.
Plus Mike, each round, there are less and less players. So each subsequent round will take less time.
Also, is the prize money (not that I'll get top 5 lololol) awarded to the overall players ranked by Bar, No-Bar and doubles? Do you have to play all 3 to qualify for overall ranking and place in top 5 to be eligable for prize money?
Been looking at that hotel thats price per ROOM and not per person. Seems like a good plan for cramming a few people into one hotel room and sharing the costs =D
How long are peeps going for? Has anyone booked their flights?
So hyped for this <3 Get your groovestats ready people

I don't think become ineligible for prize money if you don't enter all 3, but even if so you won't win it if you don't enter them all. The points are added up from all the disciplines if it's anything like the previous years, and the prize money goes to the top5 of all 3 combined.

Reactor anyone?
I'm split on this format. As an organiser I like it, but only because I had a similar idea for a future tournament already. As a player I hate it, because my tournament chances go from "None but I'll turn up as I might win a match" to "None and it's not worth turning up as I'll get four songs all weekend". But then I'm rubbish, so I don't count.

What makes you like it so much as an organiser Wellian? As an organiser and a fairly decent player myself, I can't say I like it as much as ways that focus more on 1v1 games. I can see how the all v all method is interesting, and could be argued to be more fair overall, but it eliminates a lot of what makes tournaments good to compete in a spectate imo. Less tension, less close matches, and less excitement whilst watching said close matches.
