Sorry can I get this right cos i'm dum, everyone plays the same song and we are seeded and gets points per round like that?
Is the song selected randomly? And what if you mess up on one song, you have one life?

From what I got of it, it's pick a song from a list of two or three each round, but they're all ranked in the same list. You have to be in the top [insert number here] to move on to the next song. Point I'm assuming come from finishing position rather than any points on the machine.

Two main things: scheduling and pressure. As soon as you know how many people you have you end up with a very good idea of running times, which means it'll actually be an achievement to overrun the tournament. The pressure element is coming from the threat that each song could be your last if you don't perfor, regardless of how well you did.
It's not quite how I would have run the system; knowing that 16 people would be an achievement for Yarmouth, I would fix the competition songs at a length (12 probably), and then trim people away until song 12 had two entrants, but guarantee each player a number of songs (maybe 4). The other change I would make it that the first song would be random, and then the winner of each round would - with restrictions - get to choose the next song.
Of course, with this number of people I can afford to be very relaxed about chopping people out, a luxury a 70-80 man tournament doesn't have. At least now I can see if the idea (doesn't) work before I play it myself.
In any case, iDance is so suited to this style of tournament, with one round being over every 3 minutes!

Ah so its the peoples total points after each round that mean if they get through or not.
Basically doesn't mess up lol.

It's not on iDance though, it's on ITG 2!
And the way I -think- it works in regards to getting to the next round is that it takes your score from each round (say, 99.21%), and adds them together as each round goes on. The lowest scorers will be knocked out from round 3 onwards, until only those who can do well on 12+s remain

Yeah I mean like for me personally its safest in the further rounds when you get more difficult songs because anybody could pull out a quad on a 9, its kinda dodgy at the start.
They have said that they will be releasing the lists of songs for each round soon, when they do we can discuss them here and give our oppinions etc.

SO!
Ive booked my hotel and flights. I'll be arriving in Amsterdam for 5:50pm on Tues 28th July! Im staying in Hotel Zwanenburg from Tuesday 28th July til Tuesday 4th August. Im staying a week so that I have a few days free each side to go sightseeing, shopping and just soak up the sun =D
Also no doubt there will be some partying also!
So, who else has booked their flights and/or hotels? Who is actually going to this? =D
