Right, it seems a lot of people have been chatting, rumours have been spreading and such... so here is a statement right from me to quell any sort of rumour that is going around.

DDRUK is NOT shutting down, or has any plans to. We are here to stay, and we are still going to push forward with all of our plans and events. If anyone questions this, then they can reply here or contact me directly.

We did have a moment of downtime over the weekend, I was away at an event called "Tokonastu", which is in the middle of a field and there was no internet access available. As such I was unaware that the server had crashed over the weekend. There is an automatic system in place to reset the box incase of an issue like this, however this system also froze. It was just a matter of bad timing.

So there we have it, it isn't happening!

Colin

Wow. DDR:UK certainly has survived a rather ridiculous amount of knife wounds in the back.

That WOULD explain why DDR:UK suddenly disappeared. It seems DDR:UK is like a monolith when it comes to dealing with drama. Sure it gets a severe kicking, but then it bounces back like nothing's happened a few months later.

It happens sometimes - funny how rumours spread so quickly.

Glad to have you back online. :-)

I disagree. It's bad for the growth of the hobby. I, personally, have pretty much quit playing any sort of music game on a regular basis, due lack of time to pursue more important engagements. We've lost a lot of longtime posters to real life - a bunch of the locals I used to DDR/ITG with lost interest in serious play after starting college, as did I. It will happen to most, if not all, of us, and if the scene dwindles back to a niche market, once we move on, it will be just a footnote in the history of gaming. It'll eventually be like Pong, Super Mario Bros, and Final Fantasy - you look back on it with fond memories, but there really aren't many people left seriously playing. :-)
