I disagree. It's bad for the growth of the hobby. I, personally, have pretty much quit playing any sort of music game on a regular basis, due lack of time to pursue more important engagements. We've lost a lot of longtime posters to real life - a bunch of the locals I used to DDR/ITG with lost interest in serious play after starting college, as did I. It will happen to most, if not all, of us, and if the scene dwindles back to a niche market, once we move on, it will be just a footnote in the history of gaming. It'll eventually be like Pong, Super Mario Bros, and Final Fantasy - you look back on it with fond memories, but there really aren't many people left seriously playing.
We just got to spread ourselves out in the market, that's all. DDRUK + every other dancing/video game out there.
I just stopped playing DDR too much after 2 heart attacks from that game - I swear, it's out to get me. o_o (Ok, and it's hard to find a machine! ... and the tendonitis... and bursitis... Damn IHOP)

I know what you mean. Personally I can't find the time for it any more.

On the bright side, even when we've all moved past DDR (and, as much as I hate to say it, this site), we'll always have the friends we made. The best part of the music gaming community has always been the last word of that phrase - community. That's why I still post here.

It's good to hear that DDRUK won't be going anywhere. All good things come to an end, of course, but hopefully it'll be a long time before that happens.
I've not really played DDR regularly for a couple of years - other things took priority and I have to travel further to find a machine. But whenever I do go back and play it, I always find it hasn't lost any of its appeal.
