DDR:uk IRC Channel Rules and Guidelines ======================================= To enter any of the channels for DDR:uk you must abide by these rules, otherwise you will risk being banned from the channel and the website. Upon entering the channel you agree to these rules and to the policies of the channel. The official #ddruk channel rules - irc.faereal.net / #ddruk ----------------------------------------------------------- 1. Introduction #ddruk on FaeNET has been set up to be a central location for members of the DDR:uk website to communicate and to have fun while on the Internet. The rules for this channel will be very specific as this will be the channel which new members and other such parties will enter first before being told about the other channels. There will be information about the other channels below these rules. However in the interim, this channel will be the main channel for all the DDR:uk chats until the member count increases. 2. The Rules >> Be polite to members and staff. This channel is for all ages and for all different types of people, so watch your language and what you say. Be careful with "jokes" or "sarcasm" within this channel, being the Internet you and your friends may read a sentence one way, while someone else may take offense to it. >> Spamming will end up getting you kicked or banned from the channel. If you have to say something, make sure you say it in one line. Anything that requires multiple lines must be needed, or exception cases. >> If you are banned or you were kicked, do not pester the operators of the channel, as it will just more than likely get you kicked again. If you have a question, then email irc@ddruk.com with logs of what have happened and explain why you are questioning it. >> Do not question your banning or kicking in other channels on the network! It will more than likely get you banned from that channel! >> Advertising of links or other channels is not banned, but if it becomes a nuisance or becomes spam, then an operator will ask you to stop, otherwise you may face a kick. 3. Banning and Kicking The operators of the channel have full control to do what they feel is necessary to keep the order of #ddruk intact. Therefore they have the ability to kick or ban you. In each case you must respect their decision and if you have any questions then you must email irc@ddruk.com with your logs and reasons, as any other way will probably get you banned or make the ban longer. Questioning the operators decision in other channels will more than likely get you banned from those channels as well. 4. Examples >> Spam: Channel spam could be almost anything, but to give you an idea of what the operators are looking at here are a few examples: >> Repeating the same line, multiple times to cause a pain. eg. Typing a line, and repeating this line over and over >> Text pictures or text text, multiple lines of text which disrupts the course of the channel, text pictures will almost get you banned >> Long lines of the same letters: eg. "aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa..."
